Brain or brawn

Jock or nerd. Beefcake or Geek. Everyone hates labels, but everybody uses it every day! Why are we doing this? It makes people feel, they belong to? There can be people, an excuse to be a certain way, and not try to be another way? Mean I, come on, its jocks not smart, right? Nerds can be not adapted, can they?

I know that growing up, usually a bit more in the category of brain than brawn, I fell, although I made an attempt to maintain a kind of balance between the brain and brawn, to all fit. Crazy mindset, right? Why not just look after inside and melodic me, which could be I? Now, that's all well and good, but on your average high schooler try telling!

So I went about finding other things to enjoy, how to sing and Russian, stay diversified something Meanwhile not even trouble thinking of working environment I out, because no Jock... why the? I knew nothing of the serious need training healthy, only that I could not really competition, so that I only stick would what I at distinguished.

I took some computer classes, and then studied computer science at the school. Gee, helped the stereotype, to break the law? I started swimming laps with a friend in College, but nothing serious or even with proper form, above all, because I simply liked the water and hanging out with friends... it so no real "fitness"-element. I have regular movement a summer in Florida when I was a valet for a resort hotel, but the goal was not fitness, it was easy to enjoy my job, and even then, as I my lowest weight was not, I really enough toned, comfortable to be in the public in the only swimming trunks. Meanwhile, I went on, focusing on computer science... not even out! Total brain.

No, it was not until my mother and I a fair bit of weight that I took a hard look in the mirror and realized, was, that I to do something about it. I joined a gym, lost 45 lbs of sharpen my focus, a wall, started with P90X and Shakeology got hit, toned and healthy, my father, lost etc... until today.

Ironically, even today to focus on overall healthy and work out, as I do, development Web, I'm still as the techy guy, and this is also a creative photographer and health & fitness trainer will. It bothers me not, since these days always with love, and it is always nice evaluate for something, but it is just fascinating that received the labels, it is not remain?

The only reason why I bring the it is, for the most part, nerds, geeks, etc....werden, even to adulthood, just as are focused not on fitness by any means. Picture the giant fat i.t. Guy, right? It is something that needs to change, because these nerds and geeks are a big part of our population, it is simply no reason why not, they are also the most powerful people in the country! Thinking on it. the women in the Office drooling over IT-Dolla-... the nerds will completely be alpha! It is now, I'm sure, but it is certainly not the norm is, which is why the lingering stereotype.

What are we doing about it? Is there a simple solution, or will it only steady work to take person by person? Is it simply a question of they get everything in the form or do we have to first adjust also the stereotypes in our own minds? No easy answers, but certainly many ways.
